Mixed Media tag ...'FLY'

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday! My DT project for today is a  Mixed Media Tag...they are fun to make and it could be a simple and fairly fast gift for any occasion.

Let's begin...As a base I have used a CHIPBOARD TAG, covered with white gesso, then cut few strips from the CHERRY BLOSSOM 6x6 paper set and glued in the middle...a light wash of white gesso, then added some interest with GRILLE #3 STAMP and modeling paste with ZIGZAG Small STENCIL...I have used yellow and black inks, both sprays and ink pads to add colour, then lighten up a bit with white gesso. Stamped some more images with black ink, then glued other small strips of paper, a stamped butterfly and fussy cut a flower from ALWAYS TOGETHER 12x12 paper set.
Spattered with inks, glued some black thread and a word sticker.

Here's the supplies used from SCRAP & CRAFT STORE:

- CHIPBOARD TAG
- STUDIO 75 ZIGZAG SMALL STENCIL
- STUDIO 75 CHERRY BLOSSOM 6X6 PAPER SET

Use your Wings...a Steampunk tag with Simona...

Hello everyone and welcome back for another Sunday together...I'm Simona and want to show you my new project ...a 'very' Steampunk Tag!

I love Steampunk and grungy...adding metallic accents, both real metal or just metallic paints and waxes, makes me happy...
I got this new embossing folder and wanted to try it out, so after embossing a piece of spare cardboard, I glued it to a Chipboard TAG with the Bambino Glue and cut off the excess.
To achieve a metallic, grungy look I have used inks, metallic crayons and waxes, then set aside...

Then used these beautiful Steampunk SMALL CHAINED WINGS chipboards by Scrapiniec, painted with black gesso and highlighted with metallic waxes...I painted with white gesso the chipboard Inscription 'USE YOUR WINGS' by Artistiko , then embossed with a 'Rust' effect embossing powder, and darkened all the edges. Then assembled all the pieces...to secure the wire I have used a Silver Vintage Brad...Here's few details...

Industrial Masculine Tag Featuring Studio75 Cherry Blossom Collection with Tracey

Hello dear Scrap & Craft friends!

It's Tracey here to share a new project to inspire you. I enjoy getting grungy with masculine designs. This tag is a graduation gift for the son of a good friend. I just adore this senior portrait taken of him on a bridge with the industrial red beams. The tag board is rather large at 6 1/2" wide by 12" high so is a great home decor piece featuring the Studio75 Cherry Blossom Collection as well as chipboard, stamps, and brick stencil from the Scrap & Craft Store. A complete product list can be found below.

Tips and Techniques
I wanted to bring in a grungy industrial feel to go with the gorgeous bridge in the photo so the gears in the Scrapiniec Flying Hearts Set were just perfect. This is one long strip of gears that I cut to frame the corner of the photo. The chipboard was heat embossed with aged taupe enamel for an old metal feel.

Around the tag edges, I stamped with the Grille and Grille 3 stamp with grey ink.

The Small Brick Stencil with molding paste is a perfect accent on the background. It's spritzed with silver/black and crimson color spray to highlight the texture. These colors were also used to add spatter texture. The dark paper behind the photo came from the 6x6" Studio75 Cherry Blossom Paper Set and was torn to size then inked to tone down the bright white edges.

The circle piece was diecut from chipboard and enameled with the aged taupe powder. I found a roll of back plastic mesh at a flea market that's great for masculine pieces. I cut and brushed a couple bits with art wax to tuck under the photo.

The small stars are from the Scrapiniec Confetti Stars Set. There are just a ton of little stars in this set that can be used so many different ways to go with any project. Here I brushed them with rust paste so they look like rusty metal.

I have a bag of rusty washers collected by my friend's husband who knows I adore rust. I just had to use them for their son's gift. At the bottom of the bag I noticed flakes and bits of rusty goodness. I brushed Bambino Glue around the washers and sprinkled the rusty bits into the glue for texture. The washer is topped with a barn star and gear. To make it look like the washer had rusted in place, I brushed some rust paste around the washer and spritzed with water.

More rusty goodness. A piece of chunky silver chain was brushed with more rust paste to color.

The tag background is from the 12x12" Studio75 Cherry Blossom Paper Set. I traced and cut the paper then used soft matte get to adhere the paper to the tag. Rolling with a brayer made sure the paper was adhered securely. Once the gel was completely dry, the edges were lightly sanded then inked.

This cool gear came from the Artistiko Cogs Set made from HDF board. I just adore the fabulous gear shapes in this set. It was heat embossed with metallic bronze powder with just a hint of black mixed in.

"Life is Wonderful" Tag with Tracey featuring Studio75 The Peony Avenue

Hello dear Scrap & Craft friends!

It's Tracey back to share a shabby mixed media tag featuring Studio75 The Peony Avenue Collection along with stamps, chipboard, flowers, and trim from the Scrap & Craft store. A product list can be found at the bottom of this post.

I've also included a handcrafted Foamiran rose.
A DIY video tutorial for this flower can be viewed HERE.

Tips and Techniques

This beautiful focal rose is one of the first flowers I created with Foamiran. You can view my DIY video tutorial with tips on working with this fabulous product HERE.

I tucked in a couple paper roses from the store. along with one trimmed from Studio75 Organza Rose Trim. I also fussy cut flower and leaf images from bonus sheets in the Studio75 The Peony Avenue Collection paper set. I adore mixing up textures and included real feathers along with one molded with paper clay and brushed with white gold art wax.

The gorgeous Craft Molly Floral Corners Chipboard is heat embossed with shabby pink embossing powder. I've also added texture with pearls, Prills, microbeads, glitter shards, mini chipboard butterflies, and sequins.

I stamped the background using stamps from the Scrap & Craft store.

The background was stenciled with transparent crackle medium, then brushed with green and rose color mist. I also added spatters with white ink then distressed the edges and colored with PanPastels.

I hope you've been inspired to grab your Scrap & Craft supplies

Creativity takes Courage by Simona

Hello everyone and happy Sunday...Simona's here for another tutorial...You may not know it but I LOVE Tags...in every size they might be...if I could, I would only create my projects on Tags...they are versatile, you could use them as bookmarks, or make mini Albums out of them...or a Home decor, like today's project, as my Tag is about 26 cm x 15,5 cm – that is about 10 ¼” x 6” .

I have used the beautiful 12x12 paper set 'Always together' by Craft o'Clock...first I have primed my paper using Clear Gesso, then a wash of White Gesso...Cut the upper corners to get the look of a 'proper tag' and punched a hole in the middle.
I have used these little 'color proof' squares as a guide to choose my colours palette...

I have added watered inks with a brush, drying between each layer, than added splashes of colours and a lot of stamping to build my background. Also added touches of heavy white gesso through a stencil and darkened the edges with black ink.

Using coloured pencils I enhanced the shadows on the flowers, then added touched of light with a white pen. Used die cuts, cheesecloth, black thread and straws made with book pages to build my composition, adding also some fussy cut flowers always from the same set.

Glued everything down, then added splashes of white and black ink,  green ribbon and a chipboard quote as final touches.

Here you can see more details...

Here's the supplies used, from the SCRAP & CRAFT Store:

As always I hope you enjoyed the project and thank you so much for stopping by...see you next time!

All-occasion card and tag set

hello crafty friends!! Lynne here with a card and tag set made with the beautiful Morning Dreams II collection; I love the warm, homey look of woodgrain papers and the soft patterns set the background off so well.

I added fussy cut flowers from the paper and a little cheesecloth, then did a little stencilling with texture paste before misting lightly with Tattered Angels glimmer mist.
The title piece was created with a stackable label from Gypsy Soul Lasercuts; I heat embossed the bottom layer and covered the top one with paper before adding a diecut sentiment.

I used the same techniques on the tag, distressing and inking the edges and attaching the fussy cut bits with adhesive foam tape. The diecut sentiment was heat embossed like the label on the card.

The larger white flower is from the store, and the smaller one that I found in my stash coordinated quite well with it.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I wish you a wonderful and creative week!

Spread your wings and Fly!

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying your Sunday! I am so happy to share with you my very first project made for the Scrap & Craft Design Team...Inspired by the blossoming of the trees all around, and the fabulous Studio75 paper 'Cherry Blossom' I have created this mixed media Tag...about blooming and spreading your wings...to celebrate Life!

I glued a strip of Studio75 'Cherry Blossom 01' paper to a piece of cardboard, cut to give it a Tag shape and distressed the edges with scissors.
Covered with a thin layer of white gesso, then added some stamping with archival ink. Added texture paste using Studio75 Stencil 'Marocco Clover' and once dry I spritzed few inks in different shades of pink and fuchsia, adding water when needed. I then flicked some drops of colours, both fuchsia and black, and darkened the edges for a more distressed look.

As part of the embellishments I have used a strip of the 'Cherry Blossom 01' paper, showing the pattern of the reverse side, a piece of vellum, die-cuts, bits and pieces from my stash, then attached a piece of ecru Organza Rose Trim, which added the perfect vintage touch... here you can see more details...

I have used the following materials that you can find in the Scrap & Craft shop:

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this project...and always remember to Spread your wings and Fly!
See you next time...Kisses&Hugs!
